Lankester Botanical Garden

The Lankester Botanical Garden is one of the main tourist attractions of the Central Valley of Costa Rica, in little more than 11 hectares, more than 3000 species of plants are cultivated. Its secondary forests are home to many species of birds, butterflies and other small animals. Among the collections that the Garden offers its visitors include cacti, heliconias, bamboos, palms and ferns.
Another of the main attractions is a beautiful Japanese garden, it has been the setting for activities such as weddings and meetings.
 
Besides Botanical Garden is a research center of the University of Costa Rica that is dedicated to the exhibition, conservation and study of orchids. The Garden is located in the City of Cartago, about thirty kilometers from San José, the capital of the country.
 
* Schedule: Open every day of the year from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
* Location: We are located at kilometer 4 on the road that leads from Cartago to Paraíso.
* Prices:

Nationals:
- Adult: 2,500 colones
- Preferential: 1,500 colones
* Students and senior citizen, nationals. The respective card must be presented at the time of entering the Garden.
 
Foreign:
- Adult: $ 10.00
- Non-Resident Student: $ 7.50

 Children of 5 years or less do not pay
